Summer Camp Listings

Children grow at summer camps

From Hillsborough to Hackettstown, a variety of camps are available each summer to mix fun activities with opportunities to learn about the Bible, journalism, cooking, arts and crafts, and computers. Other venues provide opportunities for enrichment academics and athletics.

Bernardsville

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish

July 9-13, 9-12:15 p.m. — Summer Son and Song will be offered to students age four through grade six. The daily activities will include Christian rock music, games shows and a mystery visitor. Edison

Bishop Ahr High School

June 25-29, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. — Five different workshops will be offered to students from 12 to 16 years old. The selections will be theater extravaganza, careers in journalism, fashion retailing and design, gaming and tech school. The gaming workshop will run from 8 a.m. to noon. Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish

Hillsborough

Mary, Mother of God Parish

July 30-Aug. 3, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — A Vacation Bible School program will be available to children from Pre-K to those entering fourth grade. The theme will be the Great Bible Reef. Preschoolers must be three years old by Oct. 1, 2006 and be potty trained. The fee is $40 for one child, $55 for two or $70 for three children. Aug. 6-10 and 13-17, 9 a.m. to noon or 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — A preschool summer camp will be offered for children ages three years to five years old. Children must be three years old by Oct. 1, 2006 and be potty trained. The program has half day and full day sessions. The cost for half day is $75 per week and full day $115 per week. St. Augustine of Canterbury School

St. Joseph High School

Our Lady of Fatima School

June 27-Aug 3, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Friends Forever Summer Camp will be held for children ages four years old to 12 years old. The camp will feature arts and crafts, water activities, special guest, holiday celebrations and more. The cost is $90 to $195 per week. St. Frances Cabrini Parish

July 23-Aug. 3, 9 a.m. to noon — St. Frances Cabrini Religious Education

St. Frances Cabrini School

June 25-Aug. 17 — Summer camp will be available for children four years old through eighth grade. Camp will include cooking, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrap booking, computer lab and other indoor and outdoor activities. The morning program runs from 8 a.m. to noon with before and after care available. The cost is $95 per week for morning only, $175 per week for full day plus $10 per day for after care. July 8, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — A youth day will be held in the school auditorium entitled “The ‘New’ C.I.A.: Contemplatives in Action.” The event is open to students in grades seven through 12 and will allow children to express and explore their faith in areas such as dance, music, drama and writing. Watchung

Mount St. Mary Academy

June 25-July 20, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. — Four one-week summer sessions will be held at the academy. Enrichment academics, athletics, art, drama and other activities will be made available to girls. Lunch and snacks will be included. The weekly fee is $400. Different programs will be available each week.
